Calkain Companies Promotes from Within
and Names New Executive Vice President
Tampa, FL, - David E. Sobelman has been named Executive Vice President of
Calkain Companies, Inc by Jonathan W. Hipp, the President and CEO of Calkain. “David has been an
integral part of Calkain’s success,” Hipp stated. “David’s intricate market knowledge and multifaceted
research abilities have allowed him tremendous success within this competitive industry. He is an asset to
Calkain and our clients and possesses tremendous character which is evident in every facet of his work.”
In his new role, Sobelman will assist Hipp on the strategic growth of the company and the
enhancement of business operations both domestically and internationally.
Sobelman has been with Calkain from its conceptual beginnings to today’s stature as a leading
real estate investment brokerage firm. He has assisted and advised clients with large institutional
portfolio transactions as well as private investors with 1031 exchange assets. His market expertise is
regularly featured in industry periodicals and seminars.
Prior to joining Calkain, Sobelman was a research analyst with Grubb & Ellis. Additionally, he
formerly served as a United States Presidential Appointee and held positions both at The White House
and for a Cabinet Secretary in Washington, DC. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping
Centers and has lobbied state and federal legislators on its behalf. He is heavily involved in philanthropic
endeavors and co-founded The Wellspring Foundation with his wife Tanner.
